72-Year-Old Killed, Four Hospitalized after Multi-Vehicle Crash on Jones Boulevard and Oakey Boulevard

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (June 19, 2024) — A 72-year-old died days after a multi-vehicle accident on Jones Boulevard on Friday, May 24.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred near the intersection of Jones Boulevard and Oakey Boulevard, just after 1:00 p.m.
 
LVMPD said a 2020 Kia Soul tried to turn left on a flashing yellow arrow. Then it crossed paths with a 1982 Chevrolet El Camino moving south on Jones towards the intersection on a green traffic signal.
 
The impact of the crash also hit a 2023 Tesla Model Y and a 2023 Honda HR-V.
 
An incident report said the 82-year-old driver of the Kia had moderate injuries. Meanwhile, the 72-year-old passenger died on Sunday, June 2.
 
Two people in the Honda and one person in the Chevy suffered minor injuries. The single driver of the Tesla was not hurt.
 
The incident marks the 73rd traffic-related death in the jurisdiction of LVMPD this year.
